I Don't Want to be a Red Fox

Writer's picture: Sadie MowrerSadie Mowrer

I will never be a red fox, nor do I want to be.

With their fur too bright, white bellies too revealing.

To be hidden is a virtue,

My gray fur hides me from danger.

Nevertheless, I find myself rolling in red soil

hoping to be changed.
